Widget Glossary

The Widget Glossary offers a complete list of all widgets available in the Store Designer. Some widgets are customizable, while others simply allow you to move the widget and add others to the page. This glossary will help you identify which widgets do what and how to customize their properties.

Account Widgets

Login Page Widget

The Login Page Widget displays the content and tools used by a store's user to log in to their account. This widget allows you to customize the content around these tools. The Login Page Widget is specific to the Login Page.

Widget Properties:

  • Literal: In this property, you can edit the Account Sign In message. You can use the text editing tools or write HTML code. You'll also find to references to the actual login tools: ConLib:LoginDialog and ConLib:RegisterDialog. We recommend that you do not remove these tools as it would destroy the functionality of the page. If you accidentally remove these tools, you can click on the Reset to Defaults button to reset the widget.
    • Category Widgets

      Category Dropdown List Widget

      The Category Dropdown List Widget displays a dropdown menu of available categories on your store. It's most commonly used for store navigation and is usually placed in a sidebar.

      Widget Properties:
      • Home Text: Enter a new label for the Home position in the dropdown menu. The default value is "Home."
      • Category Prefix: Enter a prefix character that helps display the menu hierarchy. The default value is an elipsis (...).
      • Number of Levels: This property changes the number of subcategories that are displayed in the dropdown list. The default value is 0.
      • Go Button Text: Enter a label for a Go Button that will take the user to the category selected in the dropdown menu. If this field is left blank, a Go Button will not appear and the user is taken to the category once it's selected.
      • Automatic Post Back: When using the Go Button, this property determines whether or not the category selected is returned. It's recommended that this setting remain in it's default value, "True."

      Category List Widget

      The Category List Widget displays a vertical list of store categories. It's most commonly used for store navigation and is placed in a sidebar.

      Widget Properties:
      • Title: Enter a name for the title for the category list. This title displays at the top of the widget. The default value is "Categories."
      • Show Product Count: Displays the total amount of products in each category. The default is "False" meaning that the Product Count will not display. Change the setting to "True" to display the Product Count.
      • Category Menu Style: This setting changes the style of the list to Simple, Accordion or FlyOut. The Simple style is the default and lists the categories one by one vertically so that the user can see all the categories in the list. The Accordion style list displays the main categories and expands vertically to reveal subcategories (if present) once the user mouses over the main category. The FlyOut list style display a vertical column of the main categories, then expands horizontally to reveal a second column of subcategories when the user mouses over the relative main category.
      • Content CSS Class: You can enter a class name for the div element of the category list. This can help advance designers customize the style of their category list more easily.

      Category Display Page Widget

      The Category Display Page Widget displays a grid of products from a chosen category. This page is usually reached when a visitor clicks on a category. This widget is unique to the Category Display Page.

      Widget Properties:
      • Display name for Category being viewed: This property defines the title of the product grid. The default value automatically assigns the title as the category name.
      • Number of Columns: This property changes the number of columns in the grid.
      • Items displayed per page: This property changes the number of items displayed per page. Multiple pages are accessible when the amount of products exceed this number.
      • CSS Class: You can enter a class name for the div element of the category list. This can help advance designers customize the style of their category list more easily.

      Checkout Widgets

      Thank You Widget

      The Thank You Widget displays a message thanking the user for their order. This widget is unique to the Thank You page. You can customize the message in the widget. You may want to consider making a more personalized or branded thank you message.

      Widget Properties:
      • Thank You Widget Content: You can customize the content of this widget by editing this field. You can use the text editing tools or write HTML code.

      Checkout Content Widget

      The Checkout Content Widget displays content for the checkout process. The options for checkout are dependent upon other store settings. You can choose which options to display or customize the checkout greeting using this widget. By default, this widget appears on the Checkout Page.

      Widget Properties:
      • Title: This property changes the title that appears at the top of the checkout content. The default value is "Checkout."
      • Checkout Message: In this property you can edit the greeting to users who are entering the checkout flow.
      • Enable Gift Wrap: If certain products have gift wrap options, these options will be presented to the user when this property is set to "True." If set to "False" users will not be able to choose a gift wrap option during checkout.
      • Allow Multiple Ship to Destinations: If your store settings allow for multiple shipping destinations, these options will be presented to the user when this property is set to "True." If set to "False" these options will not be available to the user during checkout.
      • Allow buyer to enter Shipping Message: If you wish to receive special messages/instructions from users about their shipping options, set this property to "True." If set to "False" this option will not be available to users during checkout.
      • Allow Anonymous Checkouts: If you want to allow your customers to checkout anonymously (without creating a permanent user account), set this property to "True." If set to "False" the customer will be prompted to create an account during checkout.
      • CSS Class: You can enter a class name for the div element of the category list. This can help advance designers customize the style of their category list more easily.

      Receipt Widget

      The Receipt Widget displays a users order. In the checkout flow it's the last page reached when the payment is made for an order. By default this widget only appears on the Receipt Page.

      Member/User Related Widgets

      My Account Widget

      The My Account Widget displays the content to the main page of a user's account. By default this widget only appears on the My Account Page.

      My Address Book Widget

      The My Address Book Widget displays all available addresses for a given user. By default this widget only appears on the My Address Book Page.

      My Gift Certificates Widget

      The My Gift Certificates Widget displays a user's gift certificate details. By default this widget only appears on the My Gift Certificate Page.

      My Order Widget

      The My Order Widget displays a user's recent orders. By default this widget only appears on the My Order Page.

      My Order History Widget

      The My Order History Widget displays a user's order history. By default this widget only appears on the My Order History Page.

      My Product Reviews Widget

      The My Product Reviews Widget displays all reviews written by a given user. By default this widget only appears on the My Product Reviews page.

      My Wishlists Widget

      The My Wishlists Widget displays a user's wishlist. By default this widget only appears on the My Wishlist page.

      Print My Order Widget

      The Print My Order Widget displays invoice and order information for a user's order. By default this widget only appears on the Print My Order Page.

      Product Widgets

      Featured Products Grid Widget

      The Featured Products Grid Widget displays your store's featured products in a grid. This widget is usually placed on the Homepage of your store, but it can also be placed in other areas.

      Widget Properties:
      • Title: Enter a name for the title of the Featured Product Grid. This title displays at the top of the widget. The default value is "Featured Products."
      • Number of Products: This property changes the number of featured products that are displayed in the widget.
      • Number of Columns: This property changes the number of columns in the grid. The value for this property has no effect when the Orientation property is set to Vertical. When set to Vertical, the grid will always display in a single column.
      • Orientation: This property changes the orientation of the widget. When set to Vertical, the product grid will display in a single vertical column. This is an ideal orientation for using the widget in a sidebar. When set to Horizontal, the product grid will display with multiple columns. This option is ideal for displaying the widget in the Main Panel area.
      • CSS Class: You can enter a class name for the div element of the category list. This can help advance designers customize the style of their category list more easily.

      Recently Viewed Products Widget

      The Recently Viewed Products Widget displays a grid of the most recently viewed products by a user. The preview function for this widget is currently not working but will be fixed in a future release.

      Widget Properties:
      • Title: Enter a name for the title of the Recently Viewed Products grid. This title displays at the top of the widget. The default value is "Recently Viewed Products."
      • Number of Products: This property changes the maximum number of products that are displayed in the widget.
      • Number of Columns: This property changes the number of columns in the grid. The value for this property has no effect when the Orientation property is set to Vertical. When set to Vertical, the grid will always display in a single column.
      • Orientation: This property changes the orientation of the widget. When set to Vertical, the product grid will display in a single vertical column. This is an ideal orientation for using the widget in a sidebar. When set to Horizontal, the product grid will display with multiple columns. This option is ideal for displaying the widget in the Main Panel area.

      Show Product Widget

      The Show Product Widget displays product details for a given product. By default this widget only appears on the Show Product page.

      Product Accessories Widget

      The Product Accessories Widget displays upsell opportunities to the user when an item is added to their cart. By default this widget only appears on the Upsell Page.

      Product Review Terms Widget

      The Product Review Terms Widget displays the user terms for submitting product reviews. The actual terms are defined in the Store Setting menu (Store > Configure > Product Reviews). By default this widget only appears on the Product Review Terms Page.

      Store Widgets

      HTML Widget

      The HTML Widget displays unique content. Unlike all other widgets, the HTML Widget is unique per implementation. This means you can put multiple HTML Widgets in your store and customize each one. You can use the text editing tools that are built into the widget or write HTML code into the widget itself.

      Widget Properties:
      • HTML Widget Content: This property is where you can write your content for the widget by using either the built-in text editing tools or writing HTML code.

      Our Departments Widget

      The Our Departments Widget displays contact information for different departments of your online company. This is commonly were merchants but contact information for Sales, Support and other departments related to business. This widget appears in the Contact Us page by default.

      Widget Properties:
      • Literal: In this property you can edit the content of the widget. You can also add text using the text editing tools or write HTML code within this widget.

      Top Selling Products Widget

      The Top Selling Products Widget displays your store's top selling products in a grid. This widget is usually placed in a sidebar on the Homepage of your store, but it can also be placed in other areas.

      Widget Properties:
      • Title: Enter a name for the title of the Top Selling Products grid. This title displays at the top of the widget. The default value is "Top Sellers."
      • Number of Products: This property changes the maximum number of products that are displayed in the widget.
      • Number of Columns: This property changes the number of columns in the grid. The value for this property has no effect when the Orientation property is set to Vertical. When set to Vertical, the grid will always display in a single column.
      • Orientation: This property changes the orientation of the widget. When set to Vertical, the product grid will display in a single vertical column. This is an ideal orientation for using the widget in a sidebar. When set to Horizontal, the product grid will display with multiple columns. This option is ideal for displaying the widget in the Main Panel area.
      • CSS Class: You can enter a class name for the div element of the category list. This can help advance designers customize the style of their category list more easily.

      The Store Logo Widget displays the store logo image wherever this widget is placed on the page. This widget does not have any editable settings. To change the store logo image go to the Store Setting menu (Store > Configure > Store Settings).

      Welcome Message Widget

      The Welcome Message Widget displays the welcome message. It is most commonly used on the Homepage to greet users to the store.

      Widget Properties:
      • Literal: In this property you can change the welcome message using the text editing tools or writing HTML code.

      Basket/Cart Widget

      The Basket/Cart Widget displays a user's shopping cart. By default this widget only appears on the Basket Page.

      Contact Us Widget

      The Contact Us Widget displays contact information for your store. By default this widget only appears on the Contact Us page.

      Widget Properties:
      • Content Area for Contact Us Page Information: You can customize the content of this widget by making edits to this field. You can us the text editing tools or write HTML code in this property.

      Privacy Notice Widget

      The Privacy Notice Widget displays the notice to users about your store's privacy policies. This widget is unique to the Privacy Page.

      Widget Properties:
      • Privacy Notice Content: You can customize the content of this widget by editing this property. You can use the text editing tools or write HTML code.

      Search Widgets

      Simple Search Box Widget

      The Simple Search Box Widget displays the basic search interface that allows a user to search for products on your store. The interface includes a text box for entering in search terms and a search button for starting the search function. There is also a link for Advance Search options which directs the user to the Advance Search Page.

      Advanced Search Results Widget

      The Advanced Search Results Widget displays the advanced search form that is used to do product searches. By default this widget only appears on the Advanced Search Page.

      Search Results Widget

      The Search Results Widget displays a user's search results. By default this widget only appears on the Search Results Page.

      Miscellaneous Widgets

      Terms and Conditions Widget

      The Terms and Conditions Widget displays the content to your store's Terms and Conditions. These are terms that you create yourself for how you operate your business. They can include payment, shipping, returns and refund policies, for example. This widget displays on the Terms and Conditions page by default.

      Widget Properties:
      • Terms and Conditions Content: You can change the your store's policies in this filed. You can use the text editing tools or write HTML code into this field.

      Privacy Notice Widget

      The Privacy Notice Widget displays content related to your store's privacy policies. This widget displays on the Privacy page by default.

      Widget Properties:
      • Literal: In this property you can change the content of the Privacy Policy widget. You can use the text editor or write HTML code.
