How to set the "from" email address in Auctiva Commerce

With Auctiva Commerce you can set the "from" email address which is used for your order notifications, newsletters and other email communications sent by Auctiva Commerce. The email is physically sent by Auctiva Commerce but the from address is updated to the address that you select. In this fashion you can send branded email communications to your customers, suppliers and vendors via Auctiva Commerce. Note that in order to use an email address as the from address you must first prove that you are the owner of that email address by verifying it.

How do I set the "from" email address in Auctiva Commerce?

Step 1. In your Auctiva Commerce merchant admin Navigate to Marketing > Email > Templates.

Step 2. Click on the edit icon (notepad) on one of the email templates. Once the template opens you will see a "Add New Email Address" link next to the From Address: drop-down. Click on the "Add New Email Address" link - this will take you to a page where you can enter the email address you would like to use as the From Address. Enter the email address you would like to use and click on the Verify Email button. Auctiva Commerce will then send a verification email to the email address that you entered - you must click on a link in the email to verify ownership of the email address.

Step 3. Once the email is verified you can set it as the Default 'from' address: value via the Marketing > Email > Settings page. This will make it the default address for any NEW email templates you create. For your existing email templates you need to choose which email address you would like to use on a per email template basis. This way you can have your order notifications sent from a specific email address, while other emails communications can use a from address that is more appropriate for the content of the message. As noted on the page you can also alter the from address on a per-message basis if desired.

You can add multiple email addresses to your Auctiva Commerce account to use as the "from" address for your email communications. Each address you enter must be verified per the instructions noted above. Also please note that you, as the merchant, need to ensure that all of your email communications do not violate the email SPAM rules and regulations that are in effect where you do business.
