How to Customize Store Categories using the Store Designer

Welcome! The new Auctiva Commerce Store Designer customization tools allow you to choose between three different display types for your categories - accordion, fly-out and simple. You can also optionally display the number of products within each category if desired

Follow the steps below to select the category display style for your store.

  1. Step 1: Open the Category List widget. Via the Edit Layout tab select your Home Page from the page selector drop-down. Once the page loads click on the wrench icon on the Category List widget. By default this widget appears on the left rail of your store's home page. It can be moved if desired.
  2. Step 2: Select your category display style and Show Product Count option. Currently there are three ways you can display your categories - accordion, fly-out, or simple. Select the display option you prefer and whether or not to display the product count per category, click Save, and Preview the results on your Home page to verify it appears as you like. Repeat the process to make any desired adjustments.
  3. IMPORTANT NOTESSince edits to all widgets, except the HTML widget, are GLOBAL the edits that you make for the Category List widget will affect all pages that the Category List widget is presented on. It is highly recommended that you thoroughly preview your draft theme before publishing it live to ensure it appears the way you want it to.

That's it!! You've selected a category display for your draft theme and can move on to other customization tasks.
