How to create the Past Buyers email list in Auctiva Commerce

Auctiva Commerce can automatically create an email list of customers that have previously purchased items from your store. Using this list you can communicate with past buyers to encourage repeat sales, announce promotions, or provide any needed product or service updates to your customers. Note that once this list is created the email address of your future buyers will be automatically added to the Past Buyers list - unless you rename the list. You, as the merchant, also need to ensure that your communications do not violate the email SPAM rules and regulations that are in effect where you do business. This tutorial will show you how to create the Past Buyers email list in Auctiva Commerce.

How do I create the Past Buyers email list?

Step 1. In your Auctiva Commerce merchant admin Navigate to Marketing > Email > Email Lists.

Step 2. Click on the CREATE LIST button next to the "Past Buyers:" label. The button is on the right side of the page approximately two-thirds of the way down the page. When you click on the button the Past Buyers list will be created and the customer's email address for all of your previous orders will be added to the list. The email address for all orders created from that point forward will also be automatically added to the Past Buyers Email List. Note that once the list is created you can edit the list to change the name, remove members, or adjust other settings. IMPORTANT NOTE - If you change the name of the list new customer's email addresses will not be added to it. You can also create new versions of the list whenever you like.

Note: Once created the Past Buyers email list operates in the same fashion as other email lists in your store - users will be able to unsubscribe from the list if they desire using the unsubscribe link that Auctiva Commerce embeds in the footer of the emails. You can also manually removed/add users to the list via the Auctiva Commerce merchant admin.

Now that the list is created you can use it in conjunction with Email Templates to communicate with past buyers to encourage repeat sales, announce promotions, or provide any needed product or service updates to your customers.
